ISLAMABAD-Sindh (A) won the 11th Korean National Junior Taekwondo Championship 2016, after grabbing 5 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze medals with total 137 points on the concluding day of the event here at Liaquat Gymnasium, Pakistan Sports Complex on Friday.

The event was featured by 45 technical officials, 80 manager/coaches and 465 junior athletes, while 10 international referees performed their duties during the prestigious extravaganza. Gilgit-Baltistan secured second position with 3 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze medals with total 103 points whereas KP (A) secured third position with 2 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals with total of 78 points.

Korean Ambassador HE Dong-gu Suh was chief guest at the closing ceremony, while Iftikhar Ahmed Tabassum, PTF patron Lt Col (R) Raja Wasim Ahmed Janjua, PSB DG Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera, women president Saba Shamim Jadoon, former Pakistan ambassador Shahid Kamal, Afghanistan Taekwondo Association secretary Khiraja Hashual Ullah Rasa, MNA Malik Abrar, MNA Meher Ishtiaque, former MPA Zia Ullah Bangash, Jockey GM Col Paracha and others were also present on the occasion.

Korean Ambassador HE Dong-gu Suh said: “I am greatly honoured to be here at the closing ceremony and deeply impressed with local players for their skills and expertise in the Korean martial arts and that too at such young age. Well done.”
