Turkey keen to boost ties with Pakistan

SIALKOT -  Commercial Counsellor of Turkey in Pakistan Ferhat Kavakli has said that his country is keen to further cement its trade relations with Pakistan.

He also stressed a need for promoting bilateral trade ties, saying both the countries have been enjoying the cordial trade relations and the time was ripe to further cement these relations.

He vowed to make efforts to promote trade, cultural and political relations between Pakistan and Turkey. He assured the meeting of his full cooperation regarding establishing and promoting the business-to-business contacts, close trade liaisons between the chambers of commerce and industry Sialkot, Istanbul and Ankara.

He pledged that the sincere efforts would be made to ensure the regular exchange of trade delegations between Pakistan and Turkey. He added that the Turkish economy was fastest growing economy and Turkey would ensure, being the 15th largest economy of the world, the easy access of Pakistan to the European and Central Asian Countries through Istanbul-Turkey being a gateway.

He said that several Turkish companies were also showing keen interest to ensure direct imports of Sialkot-made surgical instruments, sports gears and leather goods direct from Pakistan instead of importing these products from other European companies on high prices.
