rawalpindi -  Regional Police Officer (RPO) Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja has placed five cops including former Station House Officer (SHO) Police Station Westridge under suspension on charges of torturing a junior traffic warden outside Traffic Headquarters, informed a police spokesman on Saturday. The police officers and officials suspended by RPO were identified as SI Asif Iqbal, Kamran, Naheem, Babar and Atif, he said. RPO also ordered a strict departmental action against the guilty cops . According to him, RPO Wisal Fakhar has suspended and closed to Police Line the five cops including SI/former SHO PS Westrige Asif Iqbal in light of an inquiry conducted by SSP Discipline and Inspection and found the cops guilty for torturing and fracturing arm of a junior traffic warden Faiz Ahmed. Earlier, RPO also held an orderal room and awarded departmental punishments to several cops . RPO dismissed two sub inspectors and constables from service for showing negligence during duty and poor performance. On the other hand, a gang of six dacoits stormed into a money exchange store and plundered cash on gunpoint. According to details, a gang of six dacoits walked in money exchange shop located at Khayaban-e-Sir Syed Sector-III in Pirwadhai and made off cash. Later on, the dacoits collected Rs 1 million cash and foreign currency and fled from the scene.

 Police reached the crime scene and recorded statements of eye witnesses. A case has been registered against the unknown dacoits while further investigation is underway.
