Two militants killed in Khyber Agency

KHYBER AGENCY -  Two militants were killed in an exchange of fire when they attacked a camp of pro-government militia, Tauheedul Islam (TI) on Saturday night.

A government official as well as some local sources informed The Nation that last night at 1:30am unidentified militants from Darband, an area bordering Afghanistan, waged a sudden offensive on Muslim Markaz where the TI’s camp is located.

Two militants were killed in retaliatory fire.As a result of the counter attack the other attackers were forced to flee, leaving the bodies behind. On Friday, two rockets were fired from across the Afghan border that landed in Loy Shelman area.

No casualty was reported in the incident.

CTD arrests four terrorists

INP adds: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Sunday arrested four terrorists trying to plant a bomb on Peshawar’s Shah Alam bridge.

The suspects had prepared the bombs in two oil cans, according to the CTD. Police also recovered pistols and cartridges from the suspects possession.

The Bomb Disposal Squad reached the area and defused the bombs, the CTD said. The CTD further said that the suspects belong to a proscribed organisation.
