LAHORE - Through a constitutional petition scrapping of the post of DSP Investigation has been questioned before the Lahore High Court. Taking the case to preliminary hearing Wednesday the Court issued notice to Inspector General of Police, Punjab and the Home Secretary Punjab to seek their reply to the petition within two weeks. The petitioner, police officers, grieved that the respondents had infringed Police Order 2002 by dispensing with the post of DSP Investigation which in the said Order, had a specific significance in the hierarchy of investigations hence excluding the same is likely to frustrate the original purpose of police investigations envisaged in the Order. The Court after hearing the matter at preliminary stage, called for a reply to the petition from the said respondents within two weeks.
