LAHORE - Degrees were awarded to the graduates of three-year BSc (Hons) in Medical Imaging being offered by the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre in academic collaboration with the University of Bradford, United Kingdom, in a convocation held at the SKMCH&RC here on Wednesday. SKMCH&RC Chairman and Bradford University Chancellor Imran Khan was the chief guest while Bradford University Deputy Vice-Chancellor and SKMCH&RC Board of Governors member Prof Jeffery Lucas, Universitys Director Academic Administration Alison Darnbrough and Higher Education Commission ex-Chairman Dr Attaur Rehman were also present on the occasion. Congratulating the graduating students, Imran Khan stressed the need for increasing education in Pakistan, adding that it was an important factor in the success of any nation. Being Chairman of the SKMCH&RC, Imran expressed his gratitude to Deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof Lucas. He also appreciated the efforts of the SKMCH&RC for making this joint venture possible. Prof Lucas also shared his views and congratulated the students. Earlier, Dr Faisal addressing the audience said that the Hospital by providing modern education to the students had finally achieved its third top most objective. Honorary degree of DSc (Doctor in Science) was conferred upon Prof Attaur Rehman in recognition of his services in the field of research and science. Prof Attaur Rehman shared his feelings, latest wonders of science, important research work and stressed upon the students to study in the field of research. At the conclusion, Imran Khan congratulated Prof Attaur Rehman for his tremendous contribution to the field of science & research.
