LAHORE - The Jamaat-e-Islami is organising a conference on Kashmir here on Thursday (today) which will be addressed by leaders of a number of political parties. The purpose of the moot is to express solidarity with the freedom movement going on in occupied Kashmir and expose the atrocities being perpetrated by Indian troops on the innocent people. Oppression unleashed by occupation forces has sparked the desire among the Kashmiri people to liberate themselves from India occupation no matter what the price may be. The support expressed by foreign ministers of the Islamic countries at a meeting at the United Nations and their demand that the Kashmiris should be given the right to self-determination in accordance with the resolutions of the world body has boosted the morale of the freedom fighters. All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani will address the conference by telephone. Other speakers include: former JI chief Qazi Husain Ahmed, The Nation Editor-in-Chief Majid Nizami, PML-Q Secretary General Mushahid Husain, PPP Secretary General Jehanir Badar, Tehrik-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan, Jamaat-ut-Dawa chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, JUP president Dr Abul Khair Zubair, former ISI chief Hamid Gul, Jamiat Ahle Hadith leader Prof Sajid Mir, eminent jurist SM Zafar, Islami Tehreek Chief Allama Sajid Naqvi, Muttahidda Jehad Council chairman Syed Salahud Din, JUI (Senior) leader Pir Abdul Rahim Naqshbandi, Muhammad Abdullah Gul, JI Secretary General Liaquat Baloch and Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha. JI Chief Syed Munawar Hasan will preside over the conference.
