LAHORE - The Lahore High Court giving last opportunity to the Advocate General, Punjab, to file a reply Wednesday put off till Oct 19 further hearing of the petition earlier filed to get Aimal Kansi declared as national hero and conducting his reburial at home with honour. The petition was filed by Pir Ally Imran Saher through Barrister Javed Iqbal Jaffrey, praying that the body of Aimal Kansi be exhumed and reb-uried. He also demanded that a case should be lodged against PML (N) chief Nawaz Sharif for violating the law of the land, with the direction to pay Sterling Pounds 78,60,000 as during his regime Kansi was extradited to USA where he was executed on the charges of killing of killing two American CIA personnel. According to the petitioner, Kansi was an innocent person who did not commit the murder of any CIA agent; rather, he was handed over to America merely on allegations and suspicions. He stated that from 1998 to 2003 he was continuously moving to the courts to protect innocent Kansi but on a phone call of the US foreign minister the then prime minister in 1998 ordered to hand over Kansi to US government. Claming fine to the said tune from former Premier the petitioner says, with that money a modern art museum, a free hospital and a Bua-Simon Free University of Human Rights will be constructed in Quetta, the native city of Kansi.
