Islamabad - Islamabad police have arrested three car thieves and recovered 13 vehicles from their possession.

According to a police spokesman, Ramana police has arrested three car-lifters identified as Tahir Mehmud, Shah Fahad and Shehzad Bhatti and recovered 13 vehicles they had stolen from various parts of the city. The vehicles included six Suzuki Mehrans, two Suzuki Khybers, one Suzuki pick up, a Daweoo, a Mazda vehicle and a Hi-ace.

 The culprits used to change the number plates of these vehicles and sell them to simpletons.

Meanwhile, a team of Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Islamabad police arrested two street criminals identified as Dilawar and Faisal involved in robbing people of valuables at gun point. The police recovered Rs 15,000, a mobile phone and a wallet from them possession.

During the preliminary investigation, they confessed to committing robberies in Aabpara and Islamabad express highway areas. Further investigation is underway.
