LAHORE- A fire broke out in the basement of Central Model School at Rati Gun Road on Monday, creating panic in the entire locality.
Official sources said that the provincial election commissioner had set up a godown in the basement of the school, hired on rent, where the blaze broke out. Material including stationery and bags were reduced to ashes. The firefighters rushed to the spot soon after the incident and timely managed to put out the fire.
Talking to reporters, Punjab Election Acting Commissioner Khaliqur Rehman clarified that no important official record or election-related material was placed in the basement. However, empty bags and some stationery was reduced to ashes in the incident. The cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained.
