VC pledges to reform society through education

Rawalpindi - Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui has pledged to promote the university’s role for reformation of the society through quality and meaningful education. Addressing the function arranged by university Officers Welfare Association, he said, it will be his utmost efforts to serve the students in a best possible way, enabling them to become responsible citizen of the country for playing a positive role in the country’s socio-economic development.

. Dr Shahid said that he will utilise all the available resources to develop the university on modern lines providing affordable education to the masses in every nook and corner of the country.
In his educational pursuits, he said, “Merit, transparency, accountability and discipline will be hallmark of his working.” He hoped that the officers and staff while performing their official duties will keep up the basic human values in serving the students’ interest. They, he added should work with positive, constructive, professional approach and innovative thinking, so the AIOU being the mega university could become a role model in promoting the cause of education.
The vice chancellor assured that he will adopt a pro-active and positive approach in providing comfortable working environment to the university’s employees.
The promotions of the officers and the employees will be considered on priority basis. The selection board and departmental promotion committee will meet on regular basis to ensure timely and merit-based promotions. “An approach of employees pacific-management will be adopted where there will be no dissemination or baseness.
