PEF launches evening schooling project
RAWALPINDI (APP) - Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has launched the evening schooling project of its education voucher scheme.
The pilot project in the first phase has been launched in Rawalpindi, Lahore and Multan districts. According to a PEF spokesman, partnership agreements have been signed with 38 private schools and five other NGOs which will arrange free
education for about 10,000 deserving male and female children in the three selected districts. The children will be educated up to primary level to continue their education in the next grades, the spokesman added.
The partner NGOs will open and operate 140 educational centres for giving education to the needy children in the evening. The PEF will provide free textbooks and monthly Rs 450 per student to its partners. It is expected that this pilot project will help educate child labourers, dropouts and out of schoolchildren.
Meanwhile, Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (RBISE) has issued revised schedule for registration/admission of intermediate part-I, regular and private students.
According to RBISE spokesman, October 31 will be last date for registration/ admission of intermediate, part-I regular and private students while November 7 will be last date for submitting bank challan, online registration return and forwarding letter in the board office. The first year students have been directed to get themselves registered by October 31. November 10 will be last date for the registration with Rs 500 last fee charges while November 15 will be last date for submitting bank challan slips in the board office and online registration return. The spokesman further informed that registration fee per student is Rs 800 with Rs 200 processing fee.
He told that no educational institutions will be allowed to get their students registered after November 10 and no manual registration return will be accepted after the last date.
