School vacations extended on security issues

Islamabad - Ongoing winter vacations in public and private schools and colleges of Islamabad capital territory (ICT) have been extended till January 11 due to security concerns.
Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CA&DD), Barrister Usman Ibrahim, chaired a meeting to review the decision of winter vacations of educational institutions of Islamabad on Tuesday. Secretary CA&DD Babar Fateh Yaqoob, Additional Secretary Qaiser Majeed, Senior Joint Secretary Rukhsana Rehman and Director General Federal Directorate of Education Aamir Ashraf Khawaja attended the meeting. It was decided in the meeting that winter vacations would be increased to January 11, 2015, and schools would reopen on January 12 (Monday). The decision will also be imposed on private educational institutions.
The decision of increasing the vacations has been taken after the provinces decided closure of schools and colleges.
