Laptops distributed

Islamabad - As many as 100 laptops were distributed among students postgraduate programmes of Bahria University, Islamabad here Wednesday. So far, 443 students have successfully received laptops and Evo devices under the Prime Minister Youth Laptops Scheme Phase-II programme. Tariq Fazal Chouhdary, Member of the National Assembly was the chief guest of the ceremony organized in collaboration with Higher Education Commission (HEC).  
While addressing the students, he said now it was up to them to use these laptops to further enhance their skills and help the country prosper in every field.
Speaking on the occasion, Pro-Rector, Rear Admiral Saleem Akhtar congratulated the HEC and the government for the successful execution of the scheme and also to the students who have come up to criteria for award.
He said that this scheme is ambitious and complimented the HEC and the government for all their efforts.
It may be mentioned here that the government has initiated this scheme to help enhance the access to information technology. The laptops are being awarded to students studying in public sector higher education institutes across the country as, part of the Prime Minister’s youth programs for FY 2013-14.
