Teacher’s role in development can’t be denied: Ahsan

ISLAMABAD - Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal and ex-MNA Mian Muhammad Aslam have said that role of teachers is of due importance in the national development and those who have deep respect for teachers remain successful.
They expressed these views while addressing the closing session of World Teacher’s Day Walk here on Monday and organized by AFAQ and Ghazali Education Trust.
Students pay rich tribute to their teachers during a walk on World Teachers’ Day organized by AFAQ and Ghazali Education Trust from China Chowk to D-Chowk, Blue Area, Islamabad.
Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal and Mian Muhammad Aslam led the walk. Ahsan Iqbal expressed his views about the role of teachers in the development of the society. He said, “We are focussing to achieve the target of literacy and quality education in vision 2015.
The government is working to encourage the teachers through incentives. We are working to facilitate the teachers and solve their problems.”
Mian Muhammad Aslam said that the teachers consume most of their life time to mend the soul of the students.
Those who gave respect to the teachers today have a prominent position in the society and lead successful life. The speakers stressed on to solve the problems of the teachers and emphasized on to return their status back coupled with the steps taken on serious notes.
The students from the different educational institutions of Rawalpindi/Islamabad along with the people from different walks of life participated in the walk. They were holding banners and placard to mark due respect for the teachers. The speakers, addressing on the event emphasized to pay due respect to the teachers and appreciated their efforts in the national development of the country.
Students presented bouquets and gifts to the teachers on playing their role in the upbringing of their personality.
On the occasion, a great number of students, teachers civil society and political leaders were also present for the recognition of their efforts. Meanwhile, functions were arranged on the International Teachers’ Day in 635 schools run by Ghazali Education Trust in the rural areas of Punjab, KP and Balochistan provinces in which teachers were paid tribute on their matchless efforts. In this sequence, a centralized programme was conducted with the joint efforts of Ghazali Education Trust and AFAQ in which many of the political leaders participated in the “Teachers’ Day Walk.”

On the occasion, a great number of political leaders and the representatives of the society were also present for the recognition of their efforts.
