AIOU to hold anti-corruption awareness seminars

Islamabad - Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) in collaboration with National Accountability Bureau (NAB) will hold anti-corruption’ `Say No to corruption’ seminars at its regional campuses acrossthe country. The University has already held a anti-corruption seminar here at its main campus last week in collaboration with National Accountability Bureau (NAB). In the second phase, similar events will be organized at Peshawar, Lahore, Quetta, Karachi, Sukkar and Multan. This is aimed at taking part in the national task purging the society free of corruption.
AIOU being the mega public sector University with its 1.3 million students and wide country-wide infrastructure network, wish to involve students and academicians to make the campaign “No to Corruption” successful, said Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Shahid Sididiqui. The AIOU, he said has arranged a number of activities in the recent year to promote good governance and transparency in the university’s overall academic, administrative and financial system. Complaint Management Centre has been upgraded for addressing students’ complaints on fast-track basis. Transparency has been also introduced in admission, examination and delivery network through automation and use of technology-human element has been reduced.
We have arranged series of workshops and seminars in last few months for professional development and capacity building of our staff, enabling them to perform their duties in transparent and efficient manner, he added. The Anti-corruption seminars will be jointly organized by AIOU and NAB.
