150 receive degrees in IMCG convocation
Islamabad - About 150 students of different batches and disciplines received degrees yesterday at the 6th annual convocation of Islamabad Model College for Girls F-6/2.
The chief guest of the event was Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, minister of state for capital administration and development division, who awarded degrees and prizes to the students. Cash prizes, gold medal & certificates were awarded to the students who had passed their examination with distinction. The position holders included Sana Mushtaq and Shamsa Jabeen who took the 1st and 2nd positions respectively in Quaid-i-Azam University in the year 2015.
Dr Tariq also addressed the audience and congratulated the degree holders and their parents. He mentioned that the government has planned to improve and upgrade the infrastructure of 422 educational institutions in which 22 institutions have already been upgraded. He also mentioned that 200 busses shall be granted to these institutes. Dr Fazal also appreciated the efforts of the Principal Prof Mamunah Zafar who dedicated 35 years of her life to this noble profession and gave the best of her efforts to the institutions she served.
Principal Prof Mamunah Zafar in her address hoped that all the degree holders will prove themselves as the useful part of the society and will take part in the progress of the country.
She also shared with the audience the projects that are in the pipeline, namely the acquisition of the plot adjacent to the college building for college ground, the commencement of BS home economics classes, installation of water filtration plant and walkthrough gates and setting up of geographical information system laboratory.
The principal also mentioned the appreciation letter from the President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain to acknowledge the cooperation of IMCG F-6/2 in making the Quaid-e-Azam’s birth anniversary a great success.
