AIOU announces Sept 5 last date for admissions

islamabad - Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has announced September 5 (Monday) will be the last date for admissions for semester autumn 2016.

There will be no further extension and the inspiriting students have been advised to apply for the admission before the expiring date. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Shahid Siddiqui hoped that the students will avail the opportunity to continue their future study.

Admission forms and prospectuses could be obtained from the University’s main campus, 44-Regional Campuses and more than 100-Coordinating Offices across the country. The same could also be obtained from the University’s website www.aiou.edu.pk.

Besides Matriculation to Ph.D level programmes, the University introduced 64 short term skill-development courses, enabling youth to play active role in the country’s socio-economic development and to earn livelihood home and abroad.

Six-month duration courses include five technical and vocational courses, Nine- Agricultural Courses, Three-months duration professional courses include: Eight open-tech Courses.

5 Hotel Services courses, 22 Management Sciences courses, 19 Community Education courses and 13 Social Sciences courses. Detail of all these programs was available at the University’s  website.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Shahid Siddiqui said that the University has launched a number of initiatives to motivate and encourage the students towards educational pursuits and healthy activities.

He hoped they would take benefit of new academic programs and educational services, recently undertaken by the University.  Meanwhile, the University has taken special measures for timely declaration of the previous results (autumn 2015) from Matriculation to Ph.D-level, enabling the continuing students to take admission in next programme.
