Parents of APS martyrs threaten Capital sit-in

PESHAWAR - The aggrieved parents of Army Public School (APS) martyrs once again demanded of the government to conduct a judicial inquiry of the massacre in APS on December 22, last year.
While addressing a news conference here at press club on Saturday, the APS Martyred Forum President Abid Raza Bangash along-with other parents of martyred students threatened to hold a sit-in in front of Parliament House, in Islamabad, if judicial inquiry report was not made public and responsible weren't awarded with punishment. He said that though in the APS massacre about 150 students and teaching staffs were brutally killed and many others got injured, but despite lapse of five months, no responsible was brought to court of justice.
Flanked by APS Martyred Forum General Secretary Qayyum Advocate, Coordinator Mehwish Tariq and Kiran Sardar, Bangash said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan made a commitment for advocacy of the martyred students by bringing the culprits to the court of justice, but now he forgot his commitment, he added.
He lamented that in Sindh, judicial commission can become for the murder of a single person but here neither a commission was constituted nor an inquiry conducted in the massacre of APS students.
The office bearers of the forum informed that the bereaved families of the martyred students and other staff members were financially assisted on monthly basis during last few months but that was also halted.
They also alleged that the massacre was held due to the incompetence and ignorance of police and security agencies, as threats were given prior to the incident but no precautionary measures were taken.
They warned the government to hold a sit-in in front of parliament house, if judicial commission report was not brought in front of public till June 16.
