Students denounce corruption

Kandhkot - An inter classes debate competition was held here at Govt Degree College Kandhkot on Thursday on the topic, ‘Say No to Corruption’.

The competition was held in connection with the campaign initiated by NAB Sukkur to raise awareness about corruption.

The event began with recitation from the holy Qur'an, and was presided over by Government Degree College principal.

Professor Noor Mohammad Malik performed the duties of Stage Secretary.

Total six students participated in the competition. All the faculty members namely Professor Mohammad Farooque Malik , Professor Abdus Sattar Chachar, Professor Habibullah Pathan ,Professor Abdur Rahman Malik, Professor Mohammed Ismail Chachar,. Professor Ghulam Murtaza Langah and others participated in the programme.

After the debates were over, Arab Ali Sabzoi, Mushtaq Ahmed Golo and Rizwan Ahmad Mohamdani were declared as position holders and were also awarded cash prizes.

College Principal Professor Syed Ayaz Ali Shah, in his concluding remarks, said that corruption was the root cause of disappointment among youth  and encouraged nepotism ,favouritism and other social evils.

He appreciated the efforts of teachers who prepared students for the debate.

He also made the students chant slogans of ‘Say No to Corruption’. The students were also carrying placards inscribed with slogans against corruption.

On the occasion, DPE Zulfiqar Tabassum read out a poem, in which he denounced corruption, and received tremendous applause from the audience.

The programme concluded with vote of thanks and refreshments.
