Jirga for action against unregistered madaris

PESHAWAR - Speakers at a Qaumi Jirga Thursday called for taking stern action against those involved in terrorism, unregistered religious seminaries and ensure Afghan refugees repatriation.
The Qaumi Jirga was held under the banner of Karwan Tanzeen at Peshawar Press Club to condole with the families who had lost their near and dear ones in the school attack. The Jirga was presided over by PML-N provincial leader Mohammad Arif.
Besides others, members of civil society and office bearers of the organization also attended the condolence reference in a large number. They condemned the killing of 148 people including 132 students by militants in the school attack.
The participants of the Jirga termed it a coward act on the part of militants and asked the government to hang those who have been declared culprits by the courts in terrorism cases. They were of the view that the government should immediately expose those involved in terrorism.
Unregistered religious seminaries must be closed down, while registered religious madaris should have proper audit, account and collection of donations, they added.
