Uniform education demanded

LAHORE - The concluding ceremony of ‘All Pakistan Seerat-un-Nabi Contest’ was held at Aiwan-e-Iqbal here on Wednesday.
Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq, State Minister for Education and Defence Baligur Rehman, Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashood Ahmed, JI Punjab chief Dr Waseem Akhter, PTI leader Nausheen Hamid, renowned poet Amjad Islam Amjad and many others addressed the ceremony organised by Ghazali Education Trust. Speaking on occasion, Sirajul Haq appreciated the successful test firing of Raad, Ghaznvi and Abdali missiles but at the same time impressed upon the rulers to devise a strategy to tackle the problems of corruption, price spiral, unemployment, lawlessness and illiteracy.
“It is shameful for the government when it makes tall claims to brining development in Pakistan in a situation when millions of children are not going to school,” he held. He stressed the need for implementing a uniform education system. He deplored the government was not setting up a single education board for all seminaries with a uniform syllabus.
 in spite of the demand by all the five boards of the Wifaqul Madaris. He said that the JI, after coming into power, would enforce a uniform education system in the country and the examinations for the superior services would be held in Urdu.
Referring to the Kashmir Solidarity Day being observed today (Thursday), the JI chief advised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to learn a lesson from history and stop dreaming of keeping the Kashmiris as slaves on gun point.
As per the GET spokesperson, the purpose behind the contests was to brainstorm the children for the deep reverence of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
Balighur Rehman appreciated the efforts of the Trust and said that the disrespect of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) could not be tolerated under any circumstances.
