GCU KSK campus uplift this year

LAHORE: The development work on 400-acre Kala Shah Kaku (KSK) campus of the Government College University is going to begin this year, said Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman in a press statement issued here on Thursday.
The vice chancellor said that master plan and all engineering designs of the campus had been recently approved by the Higher Education Commission, and it was anticipated that the development work on the campus would begin very soon. Prof Rahman expressed extreme gratitude to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for an initial grant for development of the new campus of his alma mater. He said National Economic Council, the Government of Pakistan, had also approved the GCU KSK Campus Project and included it in its Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2014-15.–Staff Reporter
The vice chancellor said that the university had finalised master plan of the 400 acre xampus in a record time which included engineering designs of buildings, roads infrastructure, water supply and sewerage system and electric supply and other necessary facilities.
Prof Rahman said that the GCU new campus would be a landmark achievement in higher education sector of the country and would provide modern education to 25,000 students of the country. He said that science laboratories of the new campus were designed to meet the needs for the next 50 years.
