Students looted at gunpoint in QAU

Islamabad - Two unknown armed persons on Friday evening looted valuables from three students of Qauid-e-Azam University (QAU) at gun point within the university premises.
According to details, Naqeebur Rehman, Taha Adil and Umer were sitting inside their car in front of earth sciences department of the university when two unknown armed persons approached there in a white car and pointed AK-47 rifle at Naqeebur Rehman. They snatched a mobile phone, Rs 10,000 cash and a camera from the students and fled away from the scene before the security guards of the university, rangers and police could arrive there.
Talking to this scribe, Naqeeb said that they (three students) immediately reported the matter to the security guards, police and rangers officials but they didn’t chase the criminals.
When approached, Naqeeb said the Secretariat police had asked them to come to the police station and report the incident.
However, he added, they are waiting for the university management to lodge a complaint with the police station with no progress yet.
“The police are not cooperating with us,” he added.
Meanwhile, Islamabad police have arrested five alleged assassins involved in various murder cases and also held five other outlaws from various areas of the city, besides recovering 1.715-kg hashish, 20 litres wine and weapons from their possession.
According to a police spokesman, SP (Rural) Yasir Afridi constituted a special team including SHO Nilore police station Inspector Aslam Kaliar and Sub-Inspector Muhammad Akbar to resolve a triple murder case. This team succeeded to arrest two accused Chan Zaib and Walayat Hussain who allegedly killed Farida Bibi, Farhat Jabeen and Amjad and also injured another woman over land dispute on March 20, 2015.
Shahzad Town police arrested an accused Samiullah involved in a murder case and recovered murder tool (30-bore pistol) from him. Sub-Inspector Muneer Hussain Jafferi from Tarnol police arrested Essa Khan allegedly involved in a murder case and recovered one 30-bore illicit pistol along with ammunition from him. Khanna police arrested two accused Khuram and Yasir Masih and recovered 500 grams hashish and 20 litres wine from them. Bhara Kahu police arrested Raheel Khursheed and recovered 200 grams hashish from him.
Golra police arrested a bootlegger Irfan and recovered 5 wine bottles from him. Secretariat police arrested accused Amad Tayyab and recovered one 12-bore gun from him. Sabzi Mandi police arrested a drug pusher Gul Muhammad and recovered 1.015 kilograms hashish from him. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is under way.
