College recce by female suspect creates panic
RAWALPINDI - The security of an educational institution was beefed up after a suspected lady suspect dressed up as beggar found involved in obtaining information from a student for penetrating inside the institution.
However, the suspected lady managed to escape from the scene, a reliable source associated with country’s top security department disclosed to The Nation on yesterday.
He also disclosed that that Al-Qaida was all set to attack US Embassy in Islamabad while National Directorate of Security (NDA) of government of Afghanistan had also dispatched five trained terrorists to launch attack on Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Base in Kamra. According to source, an official of an intelligence agency observed a lady beggar of getting hold of a female student namely Amna of Fazaia Inter College, Jinnah Camp on Bandh Khana Road on January 22 at 1:30pm and asking questions about college’s security, guards’ deployment, scanning system, checking of cards and possibility of penetration. The female student was intercepted by the lady beggar in Street Number 1 of Al-Noor Colony, the source said adding that the lady beggar fled away along with an unknown motorcyclist as the student approached college gate to tell the security guard. “The lady beggar is also having a Motorola in her hands and is wearing Pashtoon style veil,” the source mentioned.
He informed that the administration of all the schools and colleges have been directed by the police to improve the security and extra vigilance to avoid any possible terror attack. The administration was also asked to educate all the students to pass on information to their institution heads about any such incident, he added.
Taking action, the college administration and police tightened security around the college, he said.
The source also shared that Al-Qaida was planning to target US Embassy in Islamabad and 4 suicide bombers had been prepared for the said purpose. “The attack likely to be executed from now till end of February,” he said. Following the threat, he said, the security of embassy strengthened.
Moreover, the source said that a terrorist group linked with NDS had dispatched 4 to 5 trained militants via Besham/Hazara to Kamra area to launch offensive against PAF Base, Kamra. City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi was not available for comments on the issue.
