Over 1,000 smuggled smart phones seized

 

ISLAMABAD: Customs Intelligence has thwarted an attempt to smuggle over 1,000 smart phones from Dubai to Islamabad and arrested a couple at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport. According to custom officials, the arrested man identified as Wasim was one of the most wanted smugglers. Wasim along with his wife tried to smuggle over 1,000 smart phones from Dubai to Islamabad but the Customs Intelligence thwarted his bid.

Wasim and his wife were taken into custody. Director General Custom Intelligence, Shaukat Ali, was himself present at the airport to supervise the operation.–INP

 

CADD to promote 592 teachers to BPS-18

 

ISLAMABAD: Capital Administration and Development Division has started to fulfil the modalities to promote 592 teachers in BPS-17 through time scale promotion in BPS-18.

According to the official sources, around 592 teachers are being promoted from BPS-17 to BPS-18 whose Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs) have been completed.–APP

 A case of 405 teachers is being processed in CA&DD for holding Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meeting which has been proposed to be held at the end of November 2017. The remaining 187 cases are still under process in Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) and will be completed shortly, the source said.
