Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik said that the government would initiate every possible stance for repatriation of Dr Aafia on receiving copy of courts' verdict added that she was arrested during the rein of last government not the PPP's one. According to a press release issued here on Friday, Interior Minister Rehman Malik phoned to the family of Dr Aafia and expressed his sympathies with the Dr's family and reiterated the family that even after court's verdict the government would try its best to retrieve Dr Aafia from American detention. Rehman Malik said that before the court's verdict he had written a letter to American Attorney General for early repatriation of Dr Aafia to Pakistan. He also pointed that the elements who were expressing sympathies with Dr Aafia now didn't do nothing when she was taken to America during their regime. Interior Ministry at the directives of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani recovered two children of Dr Aafia and handed then over the Aafia's family and in future the government will seek every possible measure for her repatriation. He also said that the government had hired services of a notable lawyer by disbursing millions of dollars to pursue Dr Aafia's case in America but the family of Dr Aafia refused to take the services of lawyer at the second phase of the case added that in future the government would continue its efforts to retrieve Dr Aafia.
