Bin Roye - taking Pakistani cinema's revival to the next level

Come July, Hum Network will give us a chance to celebrate Eid at the theaters with "Bin Roye"

After the successful launch of the "Ballay Ballay" audio track from the film Bin Roye on Telenor Bridal Couture Week 2015, Hum Films and MD Films showcased two more songs of the most anticipated movie of the year, during a press Conference on 9th June. The conference, held at Pearl Continental Hotel, Lahore, included a sneak peak of the songs for the media, bloggers and twitteratzies – the glimpse left all wanting more.

The movie’s complete soundtrack will be launched on June 13, 2015 in Dubai during the international curtain raiser for the movie – a first for Pakistani cinema.

Bin Roye’s star cast comprises of Mahira Khan, Armeena Rana Khan and Humayun Saeed who were on the stage to talk about the movie, which is based on Farhat Ishtiaq’s bestselling novel Bin Roye Ansoo.

The President of Hum Network, Sultana Siddiqui shared the television channel’s vision, and talked about how it has brought a change in the film and drama industry of Pakistan. Bin Roye is the beginning of the revival of Pakistan’s film and drama Industry; it is a beautiful movie which should be watched by everyone. It is Hum Network’s eidi for the Pakistani people. She further said that she would like to invite the youth of Pakistan, who want to write drama or movie scripts, to come to Hum Network, who would be happy to talk to them and help them with their projects.

Humayun Saeed, who plays the male lead role in the movie, said that he had worked hard for two years on this project and will have high hopes when Bin Roye reaches the cinema. He said that after working with Momina Duraid, he could safely say that people who make dramas can also make a feature films – she has proven it. It’s all about passion, he said. Humayun Saeed added on a lighter note that to match the age of his co-stars – who were up to and over 6 years younger than him – he had to use a lot of makeup – something he had not done in his entire career.

Armeena Rana Khan – a newcomer in Lollywood land – said that Humsafar was the first Pakistani play she saw and Bin Roye was her first movie as an actress. She was honored to work with the most prestigious names of Pakistani Film Industry like Zeba Bakhtiyar, Javed Sheikh. She said Bin Roye was a dream come true and she would love to do more movies like this.

The ever-gorgeous, Mahira Khan said that Bin Roye was a project which was very close to her heart and the entire cast, directors and others have worked on it like a family. She said people say this is a “revival” of Pakistan’s film industry, but she felt that the film industry had been revived; and now we should look to move forward, and consolidate this revival. Speaking about Bin Roye’s story, she said that it is a movie that has drama, romance and music – all in one package. The Humsafar actress further added that after working for the Indian movie Raes and now in Pakistani movie Bin Roye, she felt that people in both the countries are equally professional and are working extremely hard to entertain their audience.

Momina Duraid, the co-director of Bin Roye said about the film that it is a movie rich in Pakistani culture and shows our festivals like Eid and our elaborate wedding functions. Not only the story, but the songs, too, show who we are. There is a great need for Pakistani culture to be promoted and Bin Roye is going to do just that. Adding that singers from both India and Pakistan have sung for Bin Roye, Momina Duraid commented that art has no boundaries. The two tracks already released – “Balley Balley” and “Tere Bina Jina” – were viewed and enjoyed by many.  Abida Perveen, Rahat Fateh Ali, Sheraz Opel, Rekha Baradwaj, Ankit Tiwari, Harjdeep Kaur, Saleem and many others have sung for Pakistan’s most expensive film production. Two of its songs are directed by Asim Raza and Sarmad Sultan Khoosat, Farhan Alam has done a great job as director of photography. It is going to be the first Pakistani movie which will be released in Pakistan and internationally on the same date simultaneously.

Everyone across Pakistan is looking forward to an Eid filled with happiness – “Bin Roye”.
