LAHORE - Progressive Group has urged the government to allocate a special fund in the forthcoming budget which should fund the projects of educated young men and women aimed at accelerating the industrial and business activities in the country as well as creating job opportunities. Giving away small loans, vehicles and other such schemes enabling the youth to earn their livelihood at their own are appreciable steps by the present government, but it should instead allocate some funds for the individual and group of young men coming out of universities and other big educational institutions with some innovative idea helping the national economy to flourish and creating job opportunities.
Progressive Group President Khalid Usman made these observations at a meeting of the Group held here on Tuesday. The meeting was convened to discuss the economic and business activities in the country, performance of the ruling group in the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and suggesting measures aimed at welfare of the Chamber members.
