APCNGA rejects new gas load management schedule

ISLAMABAD
The All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) on Monday rejected new gas load management schedule issued by SNGPL for the CNG sector in Punjab.
The new schedule permits provision of gas for nine hours twice a week which is unacceptable, it said.
CNG industry in Punjab cannot survive if it is forced to work for only nine hours on Mondays and Thursdays, said Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha, Chairman Supreme Council APCNGA.
The new schedule is a conspiracy as it will have an impact on six lakh CNG converted vehicles, fifty thousand jobs and investments worth billions, he said.  Ghiyas Paracha said that some elements want CNG sector to reel and die down under the pressure of expanses which we will never tolerate.
He said that APCNGA will never bow to pressure and do whatever was needed to safeguard the legitimate interests of world’s largest CNG industry worth Rs 450 billion.
He said that there is no scarcity of natural gas in the system but the gas earmarked for the CNG sector is being provided to some influential to boost their profits.
This trend amounts to punishing masses and CNG operators for benefiting some favourites.
