Two-day LDFA-2015 exhibition ends with large turnout

The two-day livestock, dairy fisheries, poultry and agriculture exhibition (LDFA-2015) ended on Sunday with huge turnout of people visiting the event and enjoying varying stalls and camps under one roof at Expo Centre.
The event was organised by Sindh Board of Investment like it had organised it in the past from 2011 to promote livestock, dairy and other sectors of the province.
According to SBI officials, the event was a great success and had made it a popular event for the people of Karachi.
“Over 142 local and foreign companies participated at the exhibition with 340 stalls while delegations from China, Japan, Sri Lanka, Italy, Switzerland, UK and USA attended the seminar and exhibition,” they said.
The officials said that deals amounting Rs 1 billion were finalised during the event. Thus, the LDFA succeeded in attracting investment in these sectors to a great extent. The LDFA Seminar 2015 comprised of four sessions, in which government officials, businessmen, representatives of trade organisations, and academicians spoke about the initiatives and opportunities available in these sectors in Sindh.
Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah also attended the event and said that the Sindh government is fully committed to promote and support agriculture, livestock, dairy and other sectors and provide incentives and facilities to investors.
He said that the exhibition will showcase the investment opportunities in agriculture and allied sectors of Sindh and bring the government and the investors on one single platform for collaborative functioning.
Sindh Minister for Livestock and Fisheries Jam Khan Shoro said that LDFA-2015 has great impact on economy of Sindh and has set a path for the development and exploration of new markets.
It is heartening to see that large number of foreign and local companies from agri sectors are participating actively in the exhibition and sharing their experiences in modernising their products and services which will boost the productivity of agri and livestock sectors.
Government will ensure all out support including technical, financial assistance and guidelines to agriculture, livestock, dairy, fisheries and other sectors, he said.
Speaking to media, Dr Asif Brohi, Chairman Sindh Board of Investment (SBI), said that Sindh Board of Investment has been committed to support economy of Sindh and ensuring all out support to livestock, dairy fisheries, poultry, and agriculture.
Pakistan livestock and dairy sector is the backbone of the country’s agrarian economy.
Meanwhile awards were also distributed to 93 exhibitors over their participation by the Chairman Sindh Board of Investment during a ceremony at the exhibition.
