President for robust economic diplomacy

islamabad - Javed Malik, Prime Minister’s Special Envoy for Overseas Investment, called on President Mamnoon Hussain at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Friday.
He apprised the president about various efforts being made to promote business, trade and investment opportunities in Pakistan particularly attracting overseas investment. The President said that Prime Minister has reposed great confidence in Javed Malik by appointing him as his special envoy for overseas investment and expressed hope that he would reach out to the international businessmen and investors not only the overseas Pakistani community, but also friends of Pakistan from around the world and share with them the immense trade and investment opportunities that Pakistan offer in diverse fields. Pakistan’s geo- strategic location and close geographic proximity to South and Central Asian States, the oil rich Gulf economies as well as China make Pakistan a corridor that connects the fastest emerging region in the world, the President said. He urged the need for pursuance of a robust economic diplomacy by all the diplomats to highlight Pakistan’s trade and investment potential and attract businessmen and investors into the country.  Javed Malik also apprised the President about the plans to reach out to the Pakistani businessmen around the world and the strategy that has been evolved to unite overseas Pakistani businessmen on one platform.
