ICI Paints announces Rs2m CSR initiatives

LAHORE - ICI Pakistans Paints Business has announced the launch of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, which will donate over Rs 2 million in medical equipment and facilities. Beneficiaries of this CSR initiative include the Ittefaq Hospital Lahore, Childrens Hospital Lahore and the SOS Villages. The CSR donations were announced during a ceremony organized at ICIs Paints factory, where Ittefaq Hospital, the primary beneficiary of the CSR initiative, was handed over medical equipment worth over Rs 1 million, for the benefit of the hospitals cardiovascular department. Additionally, ICI Paints announced the decision to fund development of a 'Play Area for the Childrens Hospital, as well as facilitating volunteers and financial aid for the SOS Village. Addressing the ceremony, Dr Amir Jafri, VP Paints, highlighted, 'ICI Pakistan has a proud history of sustained investment in Pakistans economy as well as diverse corporate philanthropy programs. Each Business segment heads community based projects in Education, Healthcare, Community Development and Environment. The Paints Business is no different, and strives to be at the forefront of CSR initiatives for the community that we operate within. Such initiatives can only be successful when driven by a sincere vision, and we are glad to work with institutions like Ittefaq Hospital, Childrens Hospital and SOS Village that believe in the same values as ICI Pakistan. Brig Dr Abdul Qudoos, Chief Operating Officer, Ittefaq Hospital added, 'The right medical equipment is essential for providing patients with the best possible healthcare. However, financial constraints can be a significant impediment in acquiring this equipment, and we are grateful to ICI Paints for heeding our call in our time of need. We hope that other organizations can take positive example from ICIs initiative and step forward to similarly partner with healthcare providers across Pakistan.
