DGTO sends notice to LCCI on polls irregularities

LAHORE  - The Director General Trade Organization, accepting the application of opposition alliance regarding violation of rules in elections of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry for 2014-15, has sent a notice to the LCCI and asked it to give its reply within five days.
According to the notification, the Director General Trade Organization has asked the Chamber to present before him along with minutes sheet of annual general meeting and attendance register. Ch Amjad, president of the major opposition group, alleged that Chamber administration is trying to temper the attendance register and the alliance will provide the whole material along with evidences to DGTO to take action against irregularities in LCCI elections.  Progressive and Customs Association Alliance leader Sardar Usman Ghani said that they will continue to play role as an opposition party of the LCCI, showing resolve to pursue irregularities regarding the recent election, besides exposing corruption being done at Chamber. He said that the newly-constituted LCCI Services Complaint Committee will continue to facilitate members in resolving their trade and industry related issues at Chamber.
