New KCCI president assumes charge

KARACHI - Renowned businessman A Abdullah Zaki assumed the charge of president of KCCI at the 52nd annual general meeting of the Chamber which was held on Monday at Chamber’s Auditorium, Karachi.
The meeting started with the outgoing president in the chair and during the meeting the charge was handed over to the newly elected president. A Abdullah Zaki chaired the concluding session.
Earlier, Secretary General of KCCI, S M H Rizvi announced the results of members of the Managing Committee as well as office bearers. The following nominees of the Businessmen Group were declared elected unopposed, A. Abdullah Zaki, president; Muffasar Atta Malik, senior vice president and Muhammad Idrees, vice president.
Haji Asif, Hasan Sheikh Vohra, Imran Abdul Aziz, Agha Shahab Ahmed Khan, Muhammad Ali, Naveed Farooki, Mohammad Lakhani, Pervez Ashfaque Dawawala, Qamar Raza Shoukat, Shaikh Mohammad Arman Hussain, Asif Nisar, Jamal Rasheed and Shehzada Nasir Maqbool are members of Managing Committee.
The general body, in addition to the confirmation of minutes of last year’s AGM, adopted the annual report, approved the accounts and appointed auditor for the current year 2013-14.
Meanwhile, All Pakistan Fruit and Vegetable Exporters, Importers and Merchants Association elected Abdul Malik as new chairman unopposed for the year 2013-14. PFVA will hold its annual general meeting on September 30 where new elected body will take oath. Newly elected chairman Abdul Malik will take charge as chairman for second time on 1st October 2013.
