lahore - Punjab Governor Ch Muhammad Sarwar has said government accorded great importance to business community and was making hectic efforts to boost economic growth in the country.
He was speaking at a dinner given by the newly-elected Chairman United Business Group, the largest alliance of chambers in the country, Iftikhar Ali Malik at his residence here on Saturday night.
The Governor was confident that country will progress and prosper in the days ahead under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif. He said that government is committed to implement economic agenda to usher in an era of progress and development across the country, especially underdeveloped areas. He said that as a result of prudent economic policies of the government, foreign investment of billions of dollar is pouring in various sectors, especially in energy. Regarding the power shortage, he said that for the first time, China is investing huge investment in energy sector to meet the increasing demand of power in the country. Ch Muhammad Sarwar said that private sector and women have been given more than 50 per cent representation in national policy organisations.
Speaking on the occasion, SM Munir, TDAP CE, said the national economy was suffering adversely because of so-called long marches and sit-ins by PAT and PTI.
