LAHORE : Proper watering of wheat crop is necessary for good yield as watering to crop more than required amount affects the produce.   Agriculture experts expressed these views while talking to APP on Sunday.   Experts said that excess of watering is not only harmful for crop but also leaves negative impact on the land as well.   Farmers should water wheat crop for the first time after 18 to 25 days of its sowing while second important time for watering the crop is Boot stage this period starts almost after 80 to 90 days of its sowing, experts added.  They said that if the crop is not watered at second stage it would affect the pollination which leads to poor growth of grains.
Third time for watering the crop is when the wheat grain fully develops while the crop needs water for the fourth and the last time when weather gets hot and it usually happen in month of April, they added.
