LAHORE - Pakistan Agri Forum has urged the government to slash price of Diammonium phosphate (DAP) bag by Rs 600 as the cost in international market had reduced by 15 percent. Pakistan Agri Forum Chairman Dr Muhammad Ibrahim Mughal told APP on Friday that about 30 million sacks of DAP are being used annually in the country. Reduction in fertilizer prices would give some financial relief to farmers and increase the use of fertilizers by 25 to 30 percent.”
This would ultimately increase the production of different crops by 15 to 20 percent”. Mughal expressed his opinion that if the price of fertilizers and DAP would be reduced it would bring a benefit of Rs 18 billion to farmers.
