Islamabad- The tax collection by the federal government has increased by 15 percent by April this year, as compared to the year before.
Ministry of Finance, in a statement, said it collected Rs.1794 billion during the current fiscal year as compared to Rs.1509 billion over the corresponding period last year. The income tax during the current year was recorded at Rs.655 billion compared to Rs.597 billion during last year. Similarly, the sales tax increased from Rs.697 billion last year to Rs.825 billion this year while the federal excise jumped to Rs.126 billion as compared to Rs.95 billion last year.
