PIA welcomes Palpa’s aviation safety measures




KARACHI – PIA Managing Director Muhammad Junaid Yunus has expressed confidence and full support to Pakistan Airline Pilots Association (PALPA) in all their endeavors for the growth of the airline and addressing aviation safety measures to make air travel safe in Pakistan.
PIA MD was the chief guest at a ceremony held by the Pilots Association at PALPA House to present PALPA Award 2012 for aviation safety to distinguished aviation safety experts from Canada Caj Frostell and Micheal Doiron. He said that PIA management and employees are a united family and appreciated PALPA for their efforts for welfare of PIA pilots. The airline would be turned around and all the current difficulties would be overcome as the management and the employees unions and associations would be making a joint struggle with consensus to make it profitable, he added.
MD commended the establishment of PALPA Institute of Aviation and Management Sciences PIAMS and appreciated the Association for their sincere efforts. The PALPA seminar on aviation safety was also very informative and in the right direction for the growth of aviation industry in Pakistan.
President PALPA, Captain Sohail Baluch while welcoming the chief guest and distinguished foreign experts on aviation safety informed about the formation of PALPA in Pakistan with the objective of welfare of the pilots together with the safety of the passengers, aircraft and the cargo as foremost to PALPA.
He said that PALPA is striving for distinguished services in the field of aviation and aviation safety, the establishment of PIAMS is a leap forward in extending specialised education regarding aviation. PALPA has arranged a number of seminars and training workshops on safety methods. He said that PALPA is affiliated with IFAPLA and to building up professionalism through exchange of views with ICAO, IAPA, FAA, JAA, ISASI and the major aircraft manufacturers like Airbus Indusrtrie, Boeing and ATR.
Aviation safety experts from Canada Caj Frostell and Micheal Doiron thanked PIA and PALPA for honoring them.
