KSE gains 381 points on 11-year low inflation

KARACHI
Stocks closed record high amid higher trades after CPI inflation stood 11 year low in Nov ‘14 at 3.96pc YoY.
The new record of KSE benchmark 100-share index posted after fresh gain of 381 points or 1.22 percent to end the day at 31680.72 points compared to 31299.72 points of a day earlier.
KSE-Allshare index added 247.40 points or 1.09 percent to end the session at 22940.36 points, KSE-30 index grew by 288.61 points or 1.42 percent to finish the trading at 20636.17 points while KMI-30 index extended by 710.44 points or 1.42 percent to close the session at 50654.81 points.    Equity experts said oversold oil sector leads the rally followed by leveraged stocks in cement, textile and fertilizer sectors.
Expectations for SBP discount rate cut, fall in rates NSS rates and easing political concerns after PTI altered dates for protests played a catalyst role in bullish activity at KSE.
Market traded 337.817 million shares after opening at 323.948 million shares and the value of traded shares was reduced to Rs 15.607 billion from Rs 17.768 billion. The capitalisation of the market maintained at Rs 7.224 trillion compared to Rs 7.146 trillion of a day earlier.
Trading took place in 397 companies where gainers beat the losers 258 to 125 while the value of 14 stocks remained intact. Unilever FoodsXD and Nestle Pak were the price losers of the day decreased by Rs 211 to Rs 8799 and Rs 150 to Rs 8300. Wyeth Pak Ltd and Rafhan Maize were the top price gainers of the day increased by Rs 207 to Rs 4357 and Rs 202.50 to Rs 10457.50.
The top ten scrips were led by K-Electric Ltd with 31.254 million shares added Re 0.02 to Rs 8.26. It was followed by PIAC(A) with 26.105 million, Summit Bank with 13.901 million, JS Co with 13.198 million, TRG Pak Ltd with 13.076 million, Bank Al-Falah with 12.737 million, Azgard Nine with 11.549 million, Engro Fertilizer Ltd with 10.840 million, Maple Leaf Cement with 9.996 million and Engro Foods Ltd with 9.965 million shares respectively.
