LAHORE - The Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, an apex body of chambers in the country and all its affiliated chambers Sunday unanimously reposed full confidence on the sagacious and dynamic leadership of Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for steering the country out of economic, gas and power crisis crippling the national economy.
President FPCCI Zubair Ahmad Malik and Vice President SARRC CCI, Iftikhar Ali Malik told APP that FPCCI along with all its affiliated chambers, trade bodies and associations across the country have unanimously reposed confidence on PML government led by Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
Zubair said that PML high profile competent teams of technocrats and elected veteran parliamentarians enjoying the highest degree of impeccable integrity under the sagacious leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will take the country out of looming crisis and put on the way to progress, prosperity and development.
He said traders are also Pakistani, our all demands are always just and genuine which are to be addressed on top priority to provide solace and cushion of relief package to grief stricken business community badly hit be rampant gas and load shedding coupled with deteriorating poor law and order.
He said we demand fair and equitable system of taxation in all classes of the society and sectors of economy besides immediate levy of tax on agriculture income and construction of water reservoirs on top priority to meet the ever increasing energy needs of the country.
Zubair said that a workable mechanism be devised amongst regions and stakeholders to revisit, review and reach a political consensus for construction of new water reservoirs and dams on war footings which are vital for power generation and boosting economic activities besides bumper agriculture production in the country.
Regarding law and order, Iftikhar Ali Malik said that sustained political stability coupled with better law and order is pre-requisite for strengthening the national economy.
He suggested the government must evolve a long-term economic policy with complete legislative cover for bringing economic revolution in the country and fully exploiting indigenous natural resources and all stakeholders must also be taken on board prior to formulation of all national economic policies.
Iftikhar hoped that PML-N government will take all stakeholders into confidence prior to the giving final shape to its economic policies to make them viable and Pakistan and business friendly in the larger national interest besides nominating FPCCI and chambers office bearers in all important policy making process on the pattern of other developed and advanced countries.
