Traders demand five years to shift business

RAWALPINDI (APP) Traders community urged Station Commander Rawalpindi Brig Nasrullah Niazi to give them five years time to shift their commercial activities from residential areas in the jurisdiction of Chaklala Cantonment.This was stated by Chairman Business Welfare Community Chaklala Naeem Kiyani, President Ishtiaq Shah and General Secretary Qaisar Awan while addressing a press conference in Chaklala Cantt on Saturday. Chairman Business Welfare Community Chaklala Naeem Kiyani said that ongoing operation against the traders should be stopped at once. In this regard, he urged the Station Commander Brig Zaman Nasrullah Niazi to stop this operation against the business community. He said that traders have established their business and earning bread for their children. He asked the question where was Cantonment when the traders set up their business in Cantt areas for the last many years. Naeem said that trader paying their commercial taxes including Signboard taxes, Commercial property taxes, and commercial utility bills despite that the cantonment officials are against the traders. He urged Station Commander to give them five years for shifting of their business outside Chaklala area. He said that business community has invested huge amount in this sector and in case of shifting business in haste will cause million of rupees to the community. He suggested that if Chaklala Cantt authorities declare as a cottage industry then we will pay all commercial taxes. He said that our customers are elite class and army officers families keeping in view the situation give five years tenure to shift the business at safer places. He said that we will meet Station Commander on April 4, and will put our demands before the concerned authorities to take the issue for positive solution.
