Taiwan trade delegation to visit Pakistan from 9th

KARACHI – A high level trade delegation from Taiwan will visit Pakistan from April 9 to 12.
This was disclosed by Director, Taiwan Trade Center (Tehran Office) Abraham Lin at a meeting with President FPCCI Zubair Ahmed Malik here at Federation House, said an FPCCI release on Thursday.
He further informed that high level trade delegation, being organized by Taiwan Trade Center, will have the agenda to promote bilateral trade and economic relations between the two countries and explore new opportunities for investment and joint ventures with their Pakistani counterparts particularly in the field of auto parts, textile machinery, steel products, bearings, coils, UPS  and solar power products, adhesives and nets, sanitary napkins etc.
FPCCI President Taiwan Trade Center Zubair Ahmed Malik assured all possible cooperation and assistance to make the visit of delegation a success. He further stated that the visit of Taiwanese delegation will help expand existing volume of trade between the two countries that is dollars 600 million which can be enhanced manifold.
The visa issue for Pakistani businessmen also came under discussion. It was agreed by the Director Taiwan Trade Center that he will take up this issue with the concerned authorities in his country to grant visa on arrival at Taiwan instead of getting visa from any third country which is a cumbersome procedure.
Malik also proposed that Taiwan should open a trade office in Pakistan to facilitate the business community of Pakistan.
The President accepted Abraham Lin’s offer to lead a trade delegation to Taiwan to foster bilateral relations between the two countries.
He identified the areas for the trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. From Pakistan side, these included textiles , denim fabrics, leather, fruits. While Taiwan can contribute in hi-tech industry and transfer of technology as Taiwan is one of the leading countries in the world in the field of cutting edge technological innovation.
Vice President FPCCI Azhar Saeed Butt highly appreciated the efforts being made by Director Trade Center and invited Mr.  Lin to visit Lahore and other adjacent cities which have several opportunities for mutual cooperation.
