Airblue to fly between Lahore and Sharjah

KARACHI - Airblue has launched its direct flights between Lahore and Sharjah. The leading airline will be operating 4 flights a week from Lahore to Sharjah from December 2008. The inaugural flight ceremony was held at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore. Senior officials from Airblue and CAA were present for the occasion. A cake cutting ceremony was done by Amir Mehboob, APM Allama Iqbal International Airport. The four weekly flights between Lahore and Sharjah will be operated by the brand new Airbus A319 with a full economy class configuration of 144 leather seats. The flights will be operated every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday at 22:30 hours from Lahore, arriving in Sharjah at 00:30 hours. The return flight from Sharjah will operate on 01:30 hours every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday morning to arrive at Lahore at 05:30 hours. Airblue also plans to make Lahore - Sharjah a daily operation by adding three more flights in the near furture. Future plans also include flights from Islamabad to Sharjah and from Peshawar to Sharjah. Airblue has acquired two new Airbus A319 aircraft, with the addition of these two new aircraft, the airblue fleet now consists of three Airbus A321, three Airbus A320 and two Airbus A319. The airline prides itself in having the youngest fleet of aircraft in Pakistan.
