Chambers finalise arrangements for sit-in


LAHORE – Arrangements for all Punjab Chambers backed sit-in against gas closure to industry in the province scheduled for January 7 (Saturday) have been finalized.
Thousands of industrialists, traders and workers would be participating in the sit-in that is part of the LCCI protest plan announced by the Lahore Chamber president Irfan Qaiser Sheikh while leading a peaceful procession on January 02. All the trade bodies in the city are also taking part in the sit-in in a big way. The LCCI President Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said that presidents of all the Chambers of Commerce & Industry in Punjab and their Executive Committee Members are going to take part in the protest.
He said that if the government remains unmoved even after the sit-in, the call for a protest in Islamabad would be given because due to gas closure, the entire industry is in deep troubles and thousands of workers are going to lose their jobs.
