Govt policies infuse confidence in foreign investors: Shahbaz

LAHORE -Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that his visit to the UK would open up new avenues of trade and commercial relations which in turn would contribute hugely to the economic development of Pakistan.
While talking to various delegations and office bearers of PML-N before leaving for home on Monday, the Chief Minister said service to the masses is the mission of the government and every effort will be made for its fulfillment. He said that the PML-N policies have infused a new confidence in the foreign and local investors. He said that meetings with British authorities and Pakistani investors during the visit to Britain have been very fruitful and will open up new avenues of development in Pakistan.
The Chief Minister said that overseas Pakistanis have always played a commendable role for the progress of the country. He said that expatriate Pakistanis have raised their voice at international forums over different issues including securing of GSP Plus status for Pakistan. He said that in acknowledgment of the services of the Pakistanis living abroad, Punjab government has decided to set up Overseas Pakistanis Commission which will safeguard the interests and resolve problems of overseas Pakistanis who are ambassadors of their country. The Chief Minister said that maximum facilities will be provided to overseas Pakistanis in Pakistan. Shahbaz Sharif said that China has proved to be a true friend of the people of Pakistan by announcing an investment package of $32 billion and every effort will be made for fully benefiting from this package. He said that solution of energy crisis at the earliest is the mission of the government and all out efforts are being made for this purpose. He said that a strategy has been evolved for setting up coal-based power plants in Port Qasim, Gadani and Sahiwal and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will soon lay their foundation stone.
