PTC flays imposition of hefty taxes

LAHORE (PR) - Pakistan Tibbi Conference Lahore Division has strongly flayed the imposition of Rs 5,000 as registration fee and Rs 50,000 fee for obtaining licence after every four years by Punjab Government. In an emergency meeting, PTC Information Secretary Hakeem Syed Imran Fayyaz briefed the participants of health issues being faced by practitioners here on Tuesday.
He revealed that at a time when only one doctor is available for 1,500 people and a hakeem for 3,000 patients, it is totally unjustified to impose such a hefty registration and licence fees for doctors, hakeems and homeopathic doctors. He was of the view that hakeems and homeopathic doctors are providing health services on lowest rates but, after following nefarious elements, Punjab government has decided to impose such hefty taxes on doctors, hakeems and homeopathic doctors.
Hakeem Ahmed Saleemi, Hakeem Amjad Waheed Bhatti and Homeopathic Dr Abdul Shakoor Bhatti have demanded the Punjab Chief Minister Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif to look into the matter pathetically and order for the waiving off these taxes.
as these hakeems and homeopathic doctors are already paying fees for obtaining registration of their businesses.
