Iranian officials visit ISE

ISLAMABAD - A delegation from the Securities and Exchange Organisation (SEO) Iran comprising Dr Ali Saeedi and Karim Karimi along with senior officials of SECP visited Islamabad Stock Exchange (ISE) today, says a press release. The delegates were given a detailed briefing on the capital market of Pakistan in general and ISE in particular. Ms. Ayla Majid and Dr Iftikhar Ahmad, Directors ISE apprised the Irani officials on the future plan of the ISE and the areas for possible cooperation between the two countries. The delegation appreciated the efforts of SECP and the ISE for strengthening the capital market in the country. They also appreciate the steps taken by the ISE for creating awareness amongst the masses on capital market. At the end, the guests were presented shields to memorise their visit to ISE. It may be noted that the SECP and SEO of Iran has signed an MoU in 2009 and a meeting of the Liaison Committee is being held in Islamabad to facilitate cooperation and sharing information between the two regulators.
