PIA fined for carrying passengers with forged documents

ISLAMABAD -: Fine of Rs 4,169,385 has been imposed on PIA in last six months for carrying passengers with forged documents, said an official on Monday. The official told APP PIA was fined from Oct 2013 to March 2014 in various countries for carrying passengers on various charges, including no documents, expired visa, no visa, without passports, wrong port of entry and revoked residence permits. He said out of total fine, the PIA recovered Rs 1,090,874 from the from the passengers concerned. Responding to a question, he said the PIA had no integrated system with other state agencies. Checking the authenticity of travel documents is the prime responsibility of FIA/immigration agencies.
